When it comes to making healthy eating choices, finding recipes that fit into your diet and busy lifestyle can be a daunting task. I’m here to make it easier for you. Below are 10 of my favorite resources that I rely on for healthy recipes and meal planning —and many of them are AMC mom approved! Don’t worry—you don’t have to be a culinary genius to prepare these meals and most importantly, they’re delicious. Enjoy!
Probably one of the most well-known recipe resources out there, Cooking Light also publishes articles on healthy living, cooking tips and more.
Carrie Walder, MS, RD
Carrie Walder is a registered dietitian who shares recipes and nutrition advice with the goal of helping people incorporate whole foods into their everyday lives. This particular summer salad got rave reviews when I shared the recipe on AMC’s Facebook page.
Cookie and Kate
Cookie and Kate is a vegetarian recipe blog that focuses on whole foods. She has so many tasty recipes cataloged on her website. I adore this super easy and healthy No-Bake Greek Yogurt Tart. Yum!
FEED Nutrition Consulting
Forming Early Eating Decisions (FEED) was founded in 2008 by Chicago’s own Registered Dietitian, Lara Field. FEED offers nutrition counseling and health resources minus the fads. We love ALL of their healthy and clean recipes on her website. Here’s their healthier take on traditional carrot cake— carrot muffins.
Cook’s Illustrated is a comprehensive resource for tested, foolproof recipes and kitchen product reviews. I have a subscription to Cook’s Illustrated online. They are my TOP go-to resource for any recipe—offering comprehensive instructions (videos and images) on how to prepare every item! I do not consider myself a cook, but even I can pull off their recipes! Juicy grilled turkey burger anyone? *Tip, visit their Instagram account and click through images to uncover their FREE recipes.
All of the recipes shared by Minimalist Baker require no more than 10 ingredients, 1 bowl, or 30 minutes or less to prepare. You can’t get any easier than that! Check out their 30-minute Pea Pesto Pasta—it’s gluten fee and a flavorful plant-based dish.
Smitten Kitchen posts recipes for comfort food with non-fussy ingredients that are created and tested from the confines of a small apartment in NYC. How about these Strawberry Cornmeal Griddle Cakes…this recipe is in our rotation.
Skinnytaste Healthy Recipes
Skinnytaste is a great resource for recipes and meal planning for those who’s goal is weight loss or stick to a particular nutrition regime (e.g. gluten-free, keto, paleo, etc.).
Jessica Murnane posts recipes, tips, interviews and articles related to the diet that helped change her life. The dressing she uses in her Pomegranate, Kale & Quinoa salad is my go-to favorite for homemade dressing.
A Clean Bake
Nora from A Clean Bake shares recipes and meal plans for those who are grain-free, paleo, or have other dietary restrictions. One pan meals are aways a favorite in our household, like this delectable seafood paella. I adore Nora’s baked goods too if you’re looking for wholesome recipe ideas.
